Lenses come in a huge variety of focal lengths, apertures, and prices. Picking the best lens for the job can seem daunting, and there are lots of discussions about which is the best focal length for portraits and why the 85mm lens is better than the 50mm or the 135mm is a better choice than the 85mm. Each lens captures the scene in a different way, so the real determination of what lens is best needs to be made by the photographer.
