Abbreviated game story A short, simplified account of a game that includes the essential 5Ws—who won, the score, who played well, and how did it happen.

Active voice The writing construction in which a subject acts upon a situation. It is preferred to writing in which the subject is being acted upon (passive voice).

Actuality Radio term for a sound bite, or short interview segment.

Ad-libs Unscripted portions of an on-air broadcast performance.

Advertiser driven Sports shows that are created and presented based mainly on their ability to attract advertisers or sponsors.
