Roadmap

If you don't feel confident after reading this chapter and there is something you can't grasp, it may be a good idea to refer to some of the other chapters of this book. Here is a roadmap, which will assist you.

Chapter 1, “The XML Jigsaw Puzzle,” and Chapter 2, “The Basics of XML,” will remind you about the structure of an XML document, its relation to schemas, and DTDs.

Chapter 3, “XML Building Blocks: Elements and Attributes,” focuses more on elements and attributes, which are the most commonly used nodes in document trees.

Chapter 4, “Structuring XML Documents with DTDs,” and Chapter 5, “Defining XML Document Structures with XML Schemas,” will be useful to understand the DocumentType node and interface as well as entities and notations. ...
