Roadmap

The XBase, XInclude, and XLink technologies are all important, as they help establish the relationships among the dates in various XML documents. And, because the entire point of XML is to help develop documents in which the content is separated from the markup, this is a very important aspect of developing robust XML solutions that accurately convey the meaning of your information.

This chapter rounds out the location technologies currently used with XML. We've seen how to use XPath and XPointer to navigate the data within XML documents. And now we've seen how XBase, XInclude, and XLink can help you link together data in different documents, and navigate through data in document sets, rather than in a single document.
