SMIL

Similarly to SVG, SMIL applications can't really take off until there is widespread browser support. Currently, Internet Explorer offers the best support for SMIL, although other browsers are progressing. Also, a number of editors exist that allow you to work with SMIL documents. However, there aren't any WYSIWYG editors that currently support SMIL 2.0.

  • Internet Explorer 5.5 and 6.0— Internet Explorer offers support for SMIL starting with 5.5 and with 6.0 IE support for SMIL 2.0.
