XML Databases and Document Repositories
In addition to XML support built in to a number of existing relational databases, a number of specialized databases are also designed specifically for working with XML. The same holds true for document repositories. There are a number of document management solutions that were based on SGML but have been retrofitted to deal with XML. We will list a number of these products in Appendix D, “XML Software and Applications.” However, the following resources deal with the subject of data management and XML in general, not vendor specific solutions:
