Absolute Uniform Resource Locator (URL)

A partial URL containing information on the file path starting from the root directory on the server.

Accelerated open

A connection establishment technique used by T/TCP that reduces SYN and ACK segment exchanges in a typical TCP connection.

Access network

A network consisting of all the user computers and not more than two routers. The routers on an access network do not manage datagram routing from the sending to the destination computers but only route datagrams to the next hop router.

Accessing messages

The process of reading and manipulating messages from the mail server.

A special frame type that is used to confirm the receipt of data.
