Supernetting

Supernetting is the process of combining two small networks to form one large network. It is the reverse of subnetting. In subnetting, a single public IP address is used to create multiple subnets, and the subnets communicate through routers. Supernetting enables networks with different public IP addresses to be connected to each other. The different public addresses that are used for supernetting must belong to the same class. To put it differently, multiple networks with different IP addresses use the same interface.
