Methods Used by a Host for Fault Isolation

There are a few situations in which isolating or finding the exact cause of a problem might be very difficult and time-consuming. To overcome these problems, there are a few algorithms that can be used by a host to isolate the problem. If the exact nature of a problem is not identified, the efficiency of a network will come down drastically. The algorithms that can be used by a host are network level detection and polling.
