Planning for Enterprise-Level Project Management

PMOs are responsible for planning the data, processes, and roles necessary to capture, report on, and analyze project and resource information in the enterprise. The goal of planning is to enable the gathering and reporting of the information the organization wants to use and report on.

A good place to start with your planning is with the business questions listed earlier in this chapter, in the section “Enterprise-Level Project Management.” When you know the questions to which the business needs answers, you can determine the data that is required from Microsoft Project Professional 2002 to help answer those questions.
