ASET

Solaris 9 has a built-in security administration tool called the Automated Security Enhancement Tool (ASET), which automates the tasks to monitor and control system security. This tool is especially helpful in tightening the file system security. You can specify three different security levels. At each higher level, the file system security is raised and access to the system is further restricted.

ASET uses the master files of the system for its configuration. All ASET files, master files, and reports reside in the /etc/aset directory. When you install the highest security level of ASET on a system, the automated tools analyze the system and attempt to correct all weak points in the system security.
