TCP/IP is a protocol suite that enables the connection of different networks designed by different vendors into a network. It was designed to create a network of networks and deliver services such as remote logon, email, file transfer, and so on. Being a standard suite of protocols, TCP/IP is used across various operating systems and networks. TCP/IP is a standard protocol for the Internet.
