WebNFS Access

To enable the WebNFS functionality, you must have an application that can access NFS URLs. In addition, you must select the file system that can be exported for WebNFS access. File systems that are already open to the public, such as the top directory in an FTP archive or the main URL directory for a Web site, are good candidates for export.

In the WebNFS environment, the public file handle of the NFS server is associated with a directory in the root file system. The path to the NFS URL is evaluated with this directory. If the directory is in an exported file system, then the server provides access.
