The Solaris SunInstall Installation

SunInstall is an installation program that supports various Sun architectures. It can be installed on any standalone workstation.

This installation program facilitates installation/upgrade with either of the following:

  • CD-ROM drive

  • Net installation image

NOTE

Using Net Installation server requires you to have a boot server.

Steps to carry out the SunInstall installation are as follows:

1.
Boot using the installation media, CD-ROM, or Network Install server. To install from a CD-ROM drive, type the following command at the ok prompt:
								ok boot cdrom
							
To install from an install server, type the following command:
								ok boot net
