Interrupting Processing

The SPARC firmware has some keys programmed in it to interrupt processing in case of emergency. The keyboard interrupt keys are Stop+A, Stop+D, Stop+N, and the Stop keys.

The Stop+A key interrupts any running programs and processes and displays the ok prompt. It is normally used to enter the ok prompt by interrupting a hung system. This key can be used for diagnostic purposes. Note that any Forth monitor command can be issued at the ok prompt.

NOTE

It is always advisable to write the memory buffers to the disk when the Stop+A key is used. To flush the buffer, issue the sync command at the ok prompt. However, STOP+A should not be used on running production systems.
