Solaris Management Commands

The Solaris 9 OE provides a number of commands that facilitate management tasks. Some of these commands provide the underlying implementation of the views in SMC. Table C.1 describes the Solaris management commands.

smroleThis command is used to manage user account information in a role. You can add, delete, or modify user accounts from a role.
smmultiuserThis command is used to manage bulk operations related to user entries in a name service, such as NIS or NIS+. The entries are stored in the /etc file system on the local hard disk. You can use input files or clear text piped with the smmultiuser command to manage bulk operations.
