Registering Components by Using the Regscvs.exe Utility

The Regsvcs.exe utility is also referred to as the .NET Services Installation Tool. You can use the RegSvcs.exe utility to add .NET components to COM+ applications. If the COM+ application does not exist, create the application before running the RegSvcs.exe utility. The utility requires an assembly file. It also requires a destination COM+ application. The following are the functions performed by the RegSvcs.exe utility:

  • Register assemblies.

  • Create type libraries for assemblies.

  • Configure services that are added programmatically to the class.

The syntax used for the RegSvcs.exe utility is as follows:

RegSvcs options AssemblyName
