In summary, the backup and restore process allows you to recover an entire server. The server duplication process allows you to create a copy of a master dashboard site on multiple servers distributed across your enterprise. The backup and restore process cannot be done from a client computer unless you are using a terminal server client to access the server. In addition, you cannot back up individual workspaces or documents. Scripts can be created to automate the backup, restore, or duplication process. The backup process creates an image of the server. You can use this image to create a fully functioning instance of the server that is identical to the server at the time the backup image was created.
