Summary

To summarize this chapter, we discussed the common server management tasks, most of which are covered in great detail in other chapters. In this chapter we discussed various methods of configuring SharePoint Portal Server with Microsoft Proxy Server, and we discussed the overall benefits of a proxy server within our environment. We discussed the Load Tab and how to configure site hit frequency rules. We looked at how we can balance the Search and Index resource usage load across our SharePoint Portal Servers. And we described how to adjust the Search resource usage and Indexing research usage bars in a manner that dedicated resources to the process accordingly, or allowed a single server to balance these settings on the same server.
