Using SOAP with Your Current Code

Some developers are like kids in at a candy store. Simply because a technology is new and exciting, because it’s accepted by their peers as a good technology, all development must use that technology. SOAP isn’t the kind of technology that lends itself to this perspective. Look at SOAP as more of a value-added technology. It’s designed to overcome problems with older technologies and to simplify the programming environment in some cases. (Just how much simpler remains to be seen—vendors are currently discussing more and more added functionality, which also increases complexity.)
