Virtual Hosting

With the explosion of interest in the Internet and the resulting increase in the number of Web sites, it is increasingly common to see a single machine acting as the server for more than one Web site. When multiple Web sites are provided on the same machine, it is referred to as virtual hosting. This section describes the different virtual hosting options that are available with the Apache Web server and shows examples of some basic virtual host setups.
