Debugging LILO

Although LILO is easily installed, it's really quite a complex set of programs and routines. Fortunately, most of the process is transparent to the user. However, because of the level of complexity, it sometimes fails when trying to determine disk geometry or the location of key files. This section describes the types of error messages that LILO produces and how they can be used in debugging LILO failures. Both the map installer and boot loader produce helpful messages for debugging purposes.
