Taking Notes During a Slide Show

PowerPoint offers two different ways to take notes during a presentation. The first, and much simpler, way is by modifying the speaker notes for an individual slide. To do so, right-click the slide in question during a presentation and select Speaker Notes.

The second option, although more complex, lets you take full minutes as you make the presentation, assign follow-up tasks—and even link them all to your Outlook calendar should you so desire. It's an entire subsystem in PowerPoint called Meeting Minder. To take notes with Meeting Minder, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the slide as you're making the presentation and select Meeting Minder.
