Updating Index Entries

Q1:After inserting the index, I edited the entries by directly typing over them within the index itself. But when I updated the index, all those edits were lost.
A1: Always make changes to the index entries in the body of the document—that is, change the contents of the {xe} fields themselves. That way, when you update the index (or table of contents), your changes will be reflected in the new index.

Spell-Checking an Index

Q1:Even though I spell-checked my index, there are still spelling errors in the index.
