Performing a Custom Installation

When you click Install Now or Upgrade Now to install Office XP, Setup uses the following default options:

  • Program files go in a default location, and you do not have an opportunity to specify a different location.

  • Setup removes your previous Office installation (if any) and replaces all installed programs, which migrates your personal settings and preferences to Office XP.

  • On systems running Internet Explorer 4.0 or earlier, the current default browser is replaced with Internet Explorer 5.01 with Service Pack 1.
