Web Services Description Language
Web Services Description Language (WSDL) provides a means for defining a Web service and describes how to take advantage of a Web service’s features. WSDL is a fairly new standard that is currently being reviewed by the W3C. Several companies have been working on the specification, which can be found at the W3C’s Web site www.w3c.org.
WSDL does a lot to facilitate the benefits of using Web services. Without WSDL, information about a Web service would have to come from the providers of the Web service.
