Properties
The XSL-FO objects themselves would not be nearly as useful were it not for the properties that can be manipulated to affect how an object is rendered. In the XSL-FO examples you have used so far, you have already seen properties, such as font-size which specifies the size (in points) of the font being used to display a line of text.
Properties are used to express a variety of qualities with objects, from the size and color of borders, to padding inside block areas, to background images and font sizes and colors.
