How Introspection Works

Introspection is a special utility for JavaBeans that uses Reflection to determine the contents of a bean. As you probably know, JavaBeans are just Java classes that use specific naming conventions to support properties, methods, and events.

JavaBeans is Sun's answer to Microsoft's ActiveX controls, which coincidentally support properties, methods, and events. One of the differences between JavaBeans and ActiveX controls is that JavaBeans don't require any additional description files.
