Types of External System Connections
Unless you're at a brand new startup company, you'll probably need to integrate your application with existing systems. If you need to interface with a CORBA-based system or with a Java application, you should already have a pretty good idea how to proceed. Many times, however, the situation is a little cloudier. You might need to interface with a mainframe application or some other kind of system that might not be very talkative when it comes to inter-application communication.
