Computer Configuration

The Computer Configuration section is applied to each computer that is a member of the site, domain, or organizational unit (OU). These settings are applied at startup, regardless of who logs on or whether anyone logs on at all.

Tip

You can configure some group policy settings to not be applied if the computer detects that group policy is being applied over a slow link.

Software Settings

The Software Settings section has one child node—Software Installation—and is very straightforward. It appears in Figure 21.2 with one application set up as assigned, which means it will be installed on startup.
