This section's goal is to help you understand the architecture of the site object and the role it plays in replication and authentication. If you already understand site architecture and concepts and just want to know how to create and configure them, you can probably skip this section. But I do feel that in order to understand when and why you should create sites, you must know how they function.

As mentioned previously, sites are defined by areas of good network connectivity. For some, "good" is subjective. One group might define 10Mbps as "good," whereas another will not accept anything less than 100Mbps.
