Summary

Designing the AD namespace is an important part of planning your AD. In this chapter, you have looked at some choices for planning the namespace and then followed a client, packet by packet, as it found services on the DC.

You can use the same DNS namespace both internally and externally. You also can choose to separate them into external and internal namespaces.

You also can have multiple internal DNS namespaces; however, the choice to do so must be made based on current DNS infrastructure and projected needs for DNS to support AD.
