The Break Command

The Break command breaks an object in two or erases a segment of the selected object. This command can be used to create an opening in a wall or to place a gap in an object where that is not determined by the location of other objects in the drawing like with the Trim or Extend commands. Using the button from the Modify toolbar shown in Figure 9.14, you can break the following objects:

  • Lines

  • Circles

  • Arcs

  • Ellipses

  • Elliptical arcs

  • Polylines

  • Rays

  • Splines

  • Xlines
