Extending Objects to a Boundary

Similar to the Trim command is the Extend command, yet this command extends objects to a selected boundary edge. This feature enables you to extend an object exactly to an edge identified by one or more objects. Using the scenario in the previous section as a example, you could use the Extend command to project ceiling grid lines to an edge. This comes in very handy also when you are extending lines to a boundary on the other edge of the drawing. The command is accessed by selecting the Extend option from the Modify pull-down menu or by picking the Extend button from the Modify toolbar, shown in Figure 9.11.
