The Trim Command

The Trim command enables you to cut an object exactly at an edge identified by one or more additional objects. This is very useful when dealing with overlapping lines. Only the following objects can be cut using the Trim command:

  • Arcs

  • Circles

  • Elliptical arcs

  • Floating viewports

  • Lines

  • Polylines (3D and open 2D)

  • Rays

  • Splines

  • Regions

  • Text

The command can be launched by selecting the Trim option from the Modify pull-down menu or by picking the Trim button from the Modify toolbar, shown in Figure 9.8.
