Mirroring Objects in the Drawing

The Mirror command is used to create a mirror image of selected objects. An example of when you could use this command is to mirror one side of a completed duplex floor plan to create the entire unit when the duplicated side is symmetrical of the other. This command is found on the Modify toolbar and pull-down menu (see Figure 8.8). After selecting the objects you want to mirror, you are prompted to define a mirror line. This mirror line represents the axis about which the objects will be mirrored or "flipped." This does not need to be an existing line, and it is created by the user selecting two points on the screen.
