Creating Splines from a Polyline

Polyline objects can be interpolated into splines or B-splines. This is done using the Pedit Spline option, which is similar to the Fit option, yet the curves of the polyline do not pass through the vertices. With B-splines, the curve is pulled near the vertices. The vertices of the polyline make up a frame for the spline-fit curve. The more control points on the frame, the more definition the curve has. The frame for the curve is initially not displayed, yet it can be viewed using the SPLFRAME variable. When this variable is set to 1 and after the drawing is regenerated, the frame can be seen with the spline-fit curve (see Figure 6.17).
