NumChars

The NUMCHARS field displays the number of characters in the document.

Syntax

{ NUMCHARS [Switches] }

Switches

NUMCHARS supports sequence formatting switches (see the "Sequence Formatting Switches" section earlier in this chapter), and capitalization formatting switches (see the "Capitalization Formatting Switches" section earlier in this chapter).

Examples

To display the number of characters in the document, with a comma between thousands, use the following field:

{ NUMCHARS \# "#,##0" }
