Link
The Link field creates a link with text or other material in another file.
Tip
Always use Edit, Paste Special or Insert menu dialog boxes to create new links. After you create them, use Edit, Links to edit them. Avoid editing LINK fields directly unless absolutely necessary.
Syntax

Switches
Switch | What It Does |
---|---|
\a | Updates link automatically. |
\b | Inserts linked object as bitmap. |
\d | Does not store graphic data within document, thereby reducing file size. |
\h | Inserts linked object as HTML-formatted text. |
\p | Inserts linked object as picture. |
\r | Inserts linked object as RTF-formatted text. |
\t | Inserts linked object as text. |
