Ask
The Ask field displays a dialog box asking that the user enter text, then stores the response as a bookmark that can be used by other fields and macros. It is often used in mail merges to enable users to manually customize each letter or document.
Syntax
{m ASK Bookmark "DialogBoxText" [Switches ] }
Switches
Switch | What It Does |
---|---|
\d "Default" | Specifies default text that will appear in the text box within the dialog box when it first appears; if the user presses Enter, this text is stored with the bookmark. |
\o | Displays the prompt dialog box only once, rather than once for each new record in a mail merge. The response entered in the first dialog box is then used automatically in each new record. |
