Assigning a Review Task to Someone Else

It's all well and good to assign a task to yourself, but your review process is likely to turn up tasks that someone else needs to perform.

If your colleagues also use Outlook 2000, and you can send email to each other, you can easily transform the task you created into an email message that can be sent to someone else. Because the task already includes a shortcut to your file, this is an exceptionally easy way to transmit a file for review, providing the file is accessible over the network.

Start by saving your Word file—and if you want, clicking your insertion point in the paragraph with which you're concerned. (If you don't, Outlook leaves the description blank, but you can always add your own.)
