Troubleshooting and Network Management Tools

If you're having problems accessing resources that you can see in Network Neighborhood, check to see whether you have the rights that you need to do your work. Windows provides an easy way to use Net Watcher for this purpose. In Network Neighborhood, right-click the computer that holds the resources that you need; choose Properties; and then click the Tools tab. Figure 42.24 shows the list of management tools that are available.

From this point, you can select Net Watcher and use it to see whether the folder that you want to use is shared. If not, you can designate the folder as shared. If the problem is that the folder is read-only and you need full access, use Net Watcher to adjust that situation, ...
