Sharing Workstation Printers

To allow peer network users to access a printer installed on a Windows 95 workstation, you must first install the printer in the normal manner and enable the I Want to be Able to Allow Others to Print to My Printer(s) feature in the File and Print Sharing page in the Network dialog box. As with drive sharing, be sure to select the desired access control method in the Access Control page of the Network dialog box.

To create a printer share, use the following procedure:

1.
Open the Printers window from the Settings option on the Start menu or through the Control Panel.

Highlight the printer you want to share and choose Sharing from the File menu or from the printer's context menu (see Figure 36.9).
