Using Remote Network Access
Windows 95 defines the term networking more generally than most other operating systems. The connection of two computers via modems and a telephone line is considered a network interface just like a LAN connection. Windows 95 integrates these functions into the Network protocol along with the other networking components.
The Windows 95 Dial-Up Adapter is a driver like any other adapter driver, except the operating system uses the adapter to direct network traffic to a modem rather than a network interface card. A workstation can use this adapter to connect to an Internet service provider, to another Windows 95 workstation, Netware Communications Server, or to a Windows NT remote access server.
