Capturing Screens with the Clipboard

Many Windows screen-capturing programs are available, but you also can use the Clipboard to capture the contents of the screen. When the screen image is captured, it's held in the Clipboard in bitmap format.

To capture the entire screen and paste it into a WordPad document, follow these steps:

You also can capture the contents of the active window onscreen by pressing Alt+Print Screen or Shift+Print Screen, depending on your keyboard.

Press the Print Screen key to capture the entire screen and place it in the Clipboard.
