Working with the Workgroup Postoffice

Microsoft Mail requires that one of the computers on the workgroup network be set up as a Postoffice. This is usually a job for the network administrator or manager. If this is your function, this section is important for you.

The Postoffice machine is the place where all mail messages are stored for the workgroup. You can choose your machine for Postoffice duties or select a different machine.

The Postoffice must be installed somewhere on the network, in a shared folder that all members of the workgroup can access. Windows 95 comes with the Postoffice and a wizard that helps you install it.
