Viewing Received Mail

To view and work with your received mail, you must have the Microsoft Windows Messaging program running. This section explains how you can see your received mail and how to keep the Windows Messaging window organized at the same time.

How Things Are Organized in Windows Messaging

Windows Messaging contains, by default, four Personal folders, each of which holds a different kind of message. The folder names show the function of the folders:

  • Inbox. Where messages that come in to you are initially stored.

  • Deleted Items. Stores messages that you have deleted from other folders.

  • Outbox. Stores messages you are sending until you actually send them.

  • Sent Items. Stores messages you have sent after they are successfully sent.
