Understanding What Your Disk Drive Does

You use magnetic storage to store applications and data for long periods of time or when the computer is turned off. Magnetic-storage media include floppy disks and hard disks. Floppy disks are removable and don't contain much space. Hard disks are internal to the computer and have much larger amounts of space.
