Using Explorer with Shared Resources on a Network

The Windows Explorer enables you to view and manage files and folders across the network, provided you have a working network connection and sufficient permissions. Use the Network Neighborhood to view all available network resources or map shared resources to drive letters to make them easier to work with. If you know the exact name of the shared resource, you can enter it directly into any common Windows dialog box.
