Improving Windows with OSR2
OEM Service Release 2 incorporates the changes from Service Pack 1, but it also includes a number of additional enhancements. One of its most significant enhancements is a new 32-bit version of the File Allocation Table file system (FAT32). With FAT32, Windows 95 enables you to format hard drives larger than 2GB (up to a theoretical limit of 2 terabytes in size) without requiring multiple partitions. Because FAT32 uses a more efficient cluster size, it makes much better use of the space on disk partitions over 512MB in size—you can easily store 400MB more data on a disk formatted with FAT32 compared with the same disk using the FAT16 file system.
